ANNA SALINAS
filmmaker | writer | doodler

Anna is a Cuban-Swedish TV writer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, and the creator of Bad Comix By Anna. Her work is often focused on offbeat female-driven stories with surreal undertones. Anna has written on various TV shows including Loot (AppleTV), Mo (Netflix), Flatbush Misdemeanors (Showtime), and the Big Mouth spin-off Human Resources. She has also developed projects for Hulu, Sony, and Disney.
As a filmmaker, Anna has written and directed over a dozen short films, including the butt-centric comedy Mal Culo, which premiered at Austin Film Festival; and more recently, the horror-comedy I Don't Hate Her, supported by Netflix and the Latino Film Institute.
Anna got her start in filmmaking through her sketch comedy duo “John Baxter”, most known for their viral parody trailer, A Star is Korn. Their videos have been featured in Mashable, Vulture, and more. She also performs improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade with her all-latine team Menudo.
